TYC TOC will be hosting a “Turkey Bowl” Flag Football Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 28th at 11 am at the Ed Meyer complex.  Sign-up sheets are in the office and there is a $25 admission fee per team. Money must be turned into the Rec Center by Weds. the 25th.

 

 

The Titusville Hospital Medical Staff has a scholarship available for any senior entering college in a medical field career.  Stop by guidance to pick up the info.

 

The Fleet Reserve Association is having an essay contest for any student grades 7-12.  If you are interested stop by the guidance office.

 

 

Attention all 10th -12th grade boys interested in trying out for basketball this season:  Tryouts will be Friday, November 20th at 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  We will be meeting in room 128.  Please be on time and be sure to have all of your physical forms turned into Mr. Come in the office.

 

The Garden Club of PA has scholarships applications available in guidance.  Please stop down to pick up the applications and to check the eligibilities. 

 

 

There are new scholarships available in guidance for seniors.

 

All 9th, 10th and 11th grade students will be taking the 4-sight assessment in reading and math on Monday 11/23 and Tuesday 11/24.  All 10th and 11th grade Vo-Tech students will be testing on Monday 11/23 from 8-10 a.m.   All 9th grade and the remainder of the 10th and 11th grade will test on Tuesday 11/24  10th grade:  8:00 a.m. -10:00a.m.  9th grade:  10:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. and 11th grade: 1:00p.m.-3:00 p.m.  Your testing center will be the same center from the first 4 Sight assessment given in September.  New students have been assigned to a testing center.  Please ask any teacher for your testing time and center.

The Boys Basketball Team is sponsoring a Student vs. Faculty Basketball Game on Tuesday, November 17, 2009. Students interested in participating should see their class officers to sign up and teachers and staff should see Coach Davie. For those just wanting to see a great showcase of your teachers’ talent, the game will be at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday the 17th and the cost is $2 per student and $4 per adult. Tickets can be purchased from any Boys Basketball player or Coach Davie.

 


Also, Mr. Trier is looking to start an indoor drumline within the high school.  Students who are interested in playing marching drums, mallet instruments, guitar or bass for this ensemble should see Mr. Trier during or after school this week.  There will be a meeting next Tuesday, November 17th after school in the band room for those that are interested.  All students are encouraged to apply.

 

Yearbooks are now on sale—please use the form you received in directed learning to place your order.  Return your order form and check to Mr. Axton in room 112 or to Mrs. Falco in the office.  Seniors that sold play tickets must also submit a yearbook form.  Remember, in order to get your yearbook for the price of $50, you must order before Christmas vacation. 

 

Attention seniors—baby ads for the yearbook are due by Thanksgiving break.  Forms were mailed home to your parents last month.  If you need another form, please see Mr. Axton.

ATTENTION:  All seventh, eighth and ninth grade students & current Technology Center

 

Students:

On Tuesday, November 17, 2009, there will be an Open House at the Venango

 

Technology Center for all seventh, eighth and ninth grade students and their parents, as well as

 

current students. The Open House will operate from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.  The purpose of this

 

activity is to acquaint you and your parents with the Venango Technology Center.  You will be

 

given the opportunity to look at the different courses being offered and to talk with the instructors

 

at the School.

 

If you are thinking about going to the Technology Center, it is important that you

 

talk your parents into attending this event on the 17th.

contact your guidance counselor.

Jazz Band will be starting Monday, November 16th.  Mr. Trier is looking for students to play brass parts, bass and guitar parts.  If you are interested, please see Mr. Trier after school this week.  Students interested in Jazz Band should plan on attending the meeting after school next Monday.

The National Wild Turkey Federation has a scholarship available for seniors.  See Mrs. Snyder in guidance to check you eligibility and pick up the info.

 

Attn: Seniors Mrs. Snyder has important information regarding the Big 33 Scholarships.  Stop by the guidance office for more information.
