Please note that the PSSA testing schedule for Main Street School has been revised.  Rather than complete two test sections per day over a period of three days, the schedule has been changed to reflect one test section per day over a period of six days.  The testing dates for 3rd, 4th and 5th grades are as follows:

Thursday, April 8th:  Math - Grades 3, 4 & 5

Friday, April 9th:  Reading - Grades 3, 4 & 5

Monday, April 12th:  Math - Grades 3, 4 & 5

Tuesday, April 13th:  Reading - Grades 3, 4 & 5

Wednesday, April 14th:  Math - Grades 3, 4 & 5

Thursday, April 15th:  Reading - Grades 3, 4 & 5

The last day for PSSA Clubs will be Tuesday, March 30, 2010.  Easter vacation begins on Thursday, April 1st and goes through Tuesday, April 6th.  School will resume on Wednesday, April 7, 2010.  Please have a happy and safe holiday vacation!

Just a reminder that during the PSSA testing period, please be sure your child  gets plenty of sleep, eats a good breakfast, and makes every effort to be in school to avoid having to make up tests. 

The April Student Calender will be available to view and/or print from the Rocket Home Page effective April 1st.  Copies of the April Newsletter, school calendar, and lunch menus will be sent home with students by March 31st. 

PSSA Clubs will continue during the month of March at Main Street School in preparation for the April PSSA tests.  The dates and times for the Clubs are as follows:

Grades 3 & 4 - Reading - Mondays from 3 to  4 p.m.

Grades 3 & 4 - Math -     Tuesdays from 3 to 4 p.m.     

Grade 5 - All areas - Tuesdays:  3 to 4 p.m.

Grade 5 - All areas - Thursdays:  3 to 4:30 p.m.

Also, the MARCH CALENDAR has been dowloaded and is available to view and/or print by going to the Main Menu:  Downloads:  Main Street Elementary. 

The tentative dates for PSSA testing at Main Streeet School are as follows:

April 8 and 9 - Grades 3, 4 and 5

April 13 - Grades 3, 4 and 5

Make up dates:  April 14 and 15 - Grades 3, 4 and 5

PSSA Writing - April 20, 21 and 22 - Grade 5

PSSA Science - April 27 and 28 - Grade 4

Please keep these April dates in mind when marking your calendars.  Keep in mind, also, that it is extremely important for your child to be in school and well rested on these testing dates.  Thank you.

This Thursday, February 25, 2010, is Main Street School's "Spot Light on Main Street School" at The Rink.  Please note that the time for this event is 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., NOT 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. as indicated on the February school calendar.  The class with the best attendance will be awarded a pizza party at the The Rink that evening, plus free skate passes to use in the future.  Hope to see everyone there!  It's a great way to have fun and exercise all at the same time!  (Admission is $6.00 per family or $2.50 per person; plus $1.50 skate rental). 

Also, the H.E.A.R.T. awards family breakfast that was scheduled for Friday, February 26, 2010, at 7:30 a.m., has been postponed.  We will notify parents and students when this event will be rescheduled.

Some important dates and events to keep in mind for the current month include:  Spring Picture Day, scheduled for Thursday, February 4th; Family Fun Night, scheduled for Friday, February 5th from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.; start up of afterschool PSSA Study Clubs beginning Monday, February 8th; and the H.E.A.R.T. Award Recipients Family Breakfast scheduled for Friday, February 26th at 7:30 a.m.  Specific grades and times for the PSSA Clubs are indicated on the February calendar.
