The members of the Titusville Area School District Music Department believe the following to be true:

Music has tremendous intrinsic value as well as many additional curricular benefits. To achieve the Pennsylvania State Standards for the Arts, every student is required to have a comprehensive music education as part of a well-rounded curriculum. It is our responsibility to collaboratively implement a consistent and sequential curriculum that is student-centered. The cornerstone of music education must be performance-based so that each student is actively involved in the learning process. Our goal is for every student to be musically literate in the key areas of performance, history, aesthetic appreciation, and critical response.
